Detail Itinerary of Luxury Everest Base Camp Trek

Day 01: Arrive in Kathmandu (1,300m)

Upon arrival in Kathmandu airport, we receive you there and take you to hotel. Our airport representative will wait you outside the airport in front of arrival exit door showing your name and flight arrival details written on signboard or on A4 size paper so that you can find us easily at the airport. Free time on your own in the day and afternoon meeting your guide, and trip briefing for next day flight to Lukla. Stay night in Kathmandu at tourist standard hotel.

Day 02: Kathmandu to Phakding (2,562m, 35 minutes, 3-4 hrs trek).

Wake up early in the morning, drive to airport to get flight to Lukla. After an amazing flight to Lukla, we start short trek to Phakding for 4 hours along the side of Dudh Koshi valley before ascending to Ghat (2,530m), and walk gently climb again about an hour to Phakding. An easy and short trek to Phadking.

Day 03: Phakding - Namche Bazaar (3,440m 10km, 5-6 hrs)

Breakfast and trek through a beautiful pine forest along Dudh Koshi River crossing many suspension bridges via Sherpa villages Benkar, Chimoa, Monjo and Jorsole a national park permit check point with the tranquility view of glistering Mt. Thamserku (6,618 m). After lunch at Jorsalle, trekking through the Dudh Koshi riverbed to the confluence of Bhote Koshi and Dudh Koshi river and cross a high Tenzing- Hilary suspension bridge before the steep ascend through the wonderful pine forest to Namche Bazar. You may have the first view of Mount from the middle of the uphill to Everest if the weather is clear.

Day 04: Acclimatization Day - Namche Bazaar(3,440m)

Acclimatize day in Namche Bazzar either walking around Namche Bazaar surrounding or the day hike to Everest View Hotel or the Thame valley. Namche is the small hilly town of Khumbu region Everest where you get almost everything facilities.

Day 05: Namche Bazzar – Phortse Village (3,810m, 10 km, 6-7 hrs)

Breakfast and Trek to Phortse village, the out trail of main Everest Base Camp Trek. We trek on moderately flat trail on the first of the day with with superb view of Mt. Everest, Nuptse, Lhotse, Ama Dablam and close up view of Thamserku, Khangtaia to Kyangjuma, and then leaving the regular Everest Base Camp trail, we trek uphill to Mong La. Stop for lunch there and continue downhill and uphill trek to Phortse village.

Day 06: Phortse – Dingboche (4,360 m, 10km, 5-6 hrs)

Breakfast and trek on beautiful trails watching an enormous mountain view and deep valley with mountain goat.Lunch in Pangboche, trek following the river as it rises to its confluence with the Lobuche Khola and continues up to Dingboche, the last sherpa settlement. A great views of Ama Dablam rise above terraced fields of barley, buckwheat and potatoes barred by stone wall to protect crops from icy winds and animals during the short growing season.

Day 07: Acclimatization day in Dingboche

Breakfast and acclimatise day hike either to Nangkartshang Hill (5090m) from Dingboche for 5-6 hour is perfect destination to acclimatize. Trail leads with the breathtaking landscapes and marvelous view of Ama Dablam, Lhotse, Imjatse peak (Island peak), Makalu and tremendous view of the valley. Though it steep ascend or an easy hike to Chhukung valley.

Day 08: Dingboche – Lobuche (4,940, 7km, 5-6 hrs)

Breakfast and trek for 5-6 hours through valley and yak pasture with enjoying the great view of Mount Amadablam, Chotatse, Tawatse to Dugla for Lunch and continue trek uphill to Lobuche.

Day 09: Lobuche - Gorak Shep (5,160m/17,000ft) - Everest Base Camp (5,364m, 7-8 hrs)

Breakfast and walk following the windy and rocky trail with crest of north ridge to Everest along with Mt. Pumori, Mahalangur, Lingtern, Khumbutse, Nuptse, etc. Trail continues along side of Khumbu Glacier to Gorakshep. Check in to Hotel, Lunch and afternoon set out to visit world’s highest base camp Everest Base Camp. Base camp has no view of Mt. Everest but fantastic view of Khumbu Icefall and colorful camp site of Everest climbing during climbing season. Trek back to Gorakshep for overnight.

Day 10: Gorak Shep - Kala Patthar (5,545m/18,192ft) - Pheriche (4,280m/ 7-8 hrs)

Wake up early in the morning, climb up Kalapatthar(5545 m) to sunrise on top of Mount Everest and also the panoramic view of Mt. Pumori, Mt. Lingtren, Khumbutse, Changtse, Mt. Lhotse, Mt. Nupte, Mt. Ama Dablam and many more. Back to Gorakshep, breakfast and continue trek down to Pheriche.

Day 11: Pheriche – Tengboche (3,870 m, 8km, 5-6 hrs)

Breakfast and trek back to Tengbohe for 5-6 hours). Tengboche monastery has still much to see and make sense to halt a night which breaks and relief to EBC sore legs. Being it a pious Buddhist settlement, the wild life is unharmed so there is possibility to encounter some wild animals such as musk deer, mountain goat, Pheasants etc.

Day 12: Tengboche – Namche Bazzar(3,440 m/11,280 ft): 8km, 4-5 hrs

Breakfast and trek down to Dudh Kosi river to Phunki Tenga and rise up to Kyanjuma where we skipped EBC trail. About 3 more hrs considerably easy walking bring to Mountain Hub Namche Bazar and get yourself a break with drinks and some celebration to feel vacation.

Day 13: Namche Bazaar - Phadking(2,642m 10km, 5 hrs)

Breakfast and trek descend to more comfortable altitudes and the friendly farming villages from Jorsale through to Phakding.

Day 14: Phakding - Lukla(2800m, 8km, 4 hours)

Breakfast and an easy 4 hours walk trek 6-8 km to Lukla. Walk around Lukla in the afternoon, final celebration of EBC trek in the evening at Lukla.

Day 15: Lukla – Kathmandu by Air (1,300m,35 minutes)

Fly Back to Kathmandu (35 minutes) in the morning and transfer to you Hotel. Free afternoon own.

Trip Information - Luxury Everest Base Camp Trek

Everest Base Camp Trek Accommodation

Everest Base Camp Trek accommodation will be basic tea houses for boarding/lodging.This is the most popular style of trekking to Everest Base Camp and simply involves trekking from teahouse to teahouse. Teahouses are essentially small hotels find in local villages that offer both a place to sleep as well as home cooked meals. Rooms are typically shared with 2 trekkers in a room. Bathrooms are shared as well and in the Everest Base Camp Trek, the lodges usually have running cold water and western style toilets. Also the hot shower is also available but it need to pay extra cost for it.

In some of the villages on the trek, it may be possible to have a private room with an extra cost and we will do our best to arrange that. However, during busy times of the year there is a limited amount of lodging available in some of the villages so it’s generally impossible to arrange private rooms. This is the case even if you’re willing to pay extra since the tea house owners will not give out a private room if it means someone else goes without a room.

Everest Base Camp Trek Meals/Food

Trekkers can choose a meal/food from the menus at the tea houses. Typical meals on EBC trek includes omelets, toast, boiled eggs, noodle soup, fried rice, macaroni, momo, vegetarian curries, pizza or chow mein. The traditional Nepali Dal Bhat which consists of rice, lentils, and a vegetable is all you can eat and always a good choice. Meat on the mountain is not hygienic and we suggest trekkers stick with vegetarian options.

There is not a problem for vegetarian food and in fact we recommend that everyone stick with a vegetarian diet on the trek as the local meat is not refrigerated properly. If you have special dietary requirements just let us know and we will make sure to assist with the proper menu.

Everest Base Camp Trek Weather/Temperature

Weather/Temperature in Summer Everest Base Camp trek in June, July, and August have the hottest temperature.The temperature in the daytime in Everest is between 20 to 25 degree centigrade. The maximum temperature is found in the month of June and July. The nighttime temperatures in Everest during the summer is high too. The lowest that the temperature gets in the night time is -3 degree centigrade and a maximum of 5 degrees. The temperature in the months of June and July are pretty similar.

Weather/Temperature in Autumn in Everest Base Camp Trek lasts from the end of September to the November. This is the part of the year when the cold starts to set in the Everest. The maximum daytime temperature starts to go down from 20 degrees in September and falls to 12 degrees in November. The sun will not be as warm as that in the summers, but that is expected. In September the average nighttime temperature is almost 3 degrees. This starts to fall down and reach in between -7 to – 15 degrees in November.

Weather/Temperature in Winter Everest Base Camp Trek in December, January and February.The coldest of all the months throughout the year, winter at Everest is severely cold and poses challenges to the interested people. The average temperature during the daytime in the Everest winters is 8 degree centigrade. There is not a lot of difference in the temperature in December, January as well as February. All three months are equally cold. Nighttime is when the temperature falls down drastically. The nighttime temperatures around -7 degrees but it can go as low as -15 degrees.

Weather/Temperature in Spring March/April/ May a perfect time to enjoy Everest. The daytime temperature in March is around 12 degrees. This temperature goes up to 15-16 degrees in the month of April and peaks to almost 20 degrees in May. Devoid of biting cold and hot and wet summers, this is a glorious time for all Everest lovers.The nighttime temperatures, although sometimes below zero are not alarmingly low. The lowest that nighttime temperatures get is -8 in March. This increases to -5 degrees in April and -3 in May.
